I know it’s been out for a while, but I still love how beautiful Jaipur looks in this commercial. And Conan is adorable!
Good job, Ogilvy/Amex/Conan!
From this month’s Conde Nast Traveler, a beautiful article on my hometown and ‘India’s capital of adornment’, Jaipur.

Old-fashioned papers are thriving in India, where editors’ fingers are still stained with black ink, not red. (via theeconomist)
The newspaper is still alive, and thriving. And for a country like India, it is probably the most powerful tool for spreading literacy and education.

This email came out on the listserv at work today and it made me really sad. Too many people don’t understand that pets are like babies- they need to be planned, that you shouldn’t get a pet if you don’t think you are settled. It is criminal to abandon a 1 1/2 year old boxer just because your new landlord won’t allow animals!
I hope Roxy finds a real home this time.

This Saturday, we embarked on the adventure of a lifetime. At 3:00 in the morning, we embarked on a journey to volunteer at Mt. Hood Community College for Bike MS. We had one problem, no transportation to get there at 5:00 a.m. when our shift began. So Vrinda, Joey, Cody and I put our clever brains together and came up with a plain to make it to our destination. The Idea: Bike 20 miles there and 20 miles back. Though it seemed crazy at the time, it turned out to be a great time to get to know each other and to see what Oregon is like outside of Downtown Portland.
